Chapter 4 -- Treasure Hunt

"You mean a treasure hunt? I love treasure hunts!" Sam was getting excited.

"Yeah. A treasure hunt. My parents left this letter for me." Uleen said as she took a piece of paper from the cabinet next to the television. "Here, read it." She passed the paper to Sam.

Sam looked at it and said, "Is this English? I don't know how to read it."

"Oh yeah... I forgot you can't read Jaguish. Jaguish is a language only my family, the Jaguas can read. Let me read it out." Uleen said.

To my beloved daughter,

Dear Uleen,

When you are reading this letter, mommy and daddy have already gone to another world. Don't be too sad. We will still be with you every time.

There's a thing we haven't told you...

About a hundred years ago, your great-great-grandfather, Joe saved the queen, Queen Wendy from a disastrous fire at the palace. The necklace was a reward from Queen Wendy for Joe's bravery.

The necklace was called "Sparks of Light". It was made of gold. There was a gang of thieves trying to steal it from Joe. To save Sparks of Light, Joe was forced to hide it.

Joe was the only one who knew where Sparks of Light was hidden. He was soon killed by the thieves and the mystery was never solved.

Nobody knew where Sparks of Light was. Mommy and daddy tried to find it, but failed. We hope that you, Uleen can solve the mystery. Find a human to help you. Humans are smarter.

Be careful... That's all we can say.

Love,
Mommy and Daddy <3

"It looks fun... I love adventure. And there are thieves... It's just like a game!" Sam was excited.

"It's dangerous too, you know? It's not like a game. You only have one life and you can't game over and restart. If you fail, you lose your life." Aleen said with a grim face.

"Ohh... Okay. But let's try... Your parents said that humans are smarter, so you guys will need me, right? I am willing to help you all." Sam said.

"Okay. Since you agreed, let's start the treasure hunt together," said Uleen with a smile.

Chapter 3 -- Treasure

At the end of the road, there was a black wall and a tiny little screen in the middle. The angel took out a rainbow-coloured card and tapped it on the screen. Before Sam realized what had happened, he was at the other side of the wall.

"This is Colourena. It's a place where the Arquins live. I'm taking you to my house." The angel told Sam.

"Hold on, what's an Arquin?" Sam was getting confused.

"In Cloud World, we angels learn magic in school. At the age of twelve, we need to sit for a test to become a Ranese. Raneses can use their power whenever they like as long as it was not against the Angel Law. At the age of eighteen, we sit for a test again. If we passed it, we would become an Arquin. Arquins have the right to go to other worlds and have a coloured and shaped house. Colourena is a place where Arquins live. The houses here are colourful and the shapes are different." The angel explained.

After the angel's explanation only did Sam notice the differences. The houses here were not white. They were colourful. Plus, there were various shapes of houses . There were apple-shaped houses, orange-shaped, rectangle, square, triangle... Whatever shapes and colours one could think of could be found here.

Sam and the angel walked down the road and turn left into the third row. The angel's house was pink and love-shaped. Sam was going to ask how could a love-shaped house be stable when the angel said "Have you forgotten that Cloud World's a magic world? Some of the things here can't be explained by Science."

"Oh yeah... This is a magic world and the angels can read minds." thought Sam.

The houses here did not have any gates. The angel tapped her card on the front door and a screen appeared in front of her. She entered a password and the door slided open.

"Welcome to my house. Please take off your shoes and put it on the shoes rack. Thank you." The angel pointed at the shoe rack next to the door.

Sam put his shoes on the shoe rack and glanced around. This room was very small. There was just a shoe rack in it. The wall next to the shoe rack was another door. The angel did the same thing as just now and the door slided open.

"Hey guys! Look what I've brought." There was three more angels in this room, which Sam had known as a living room, and the angel who took Sam here told them.

"What's up? I'm Eleen." The angel sitting on a pink sofa said.

"Hello. I'm Aleen." The angel reading a book said.

"Nice to meet you. I'm Oleen." The angel, who was standing next to the angel that brought Sam here, was sticking her hand out for Sam to shake.

Sam shook hands with her as the angel that brought Sam here said "I think I haven't introduce myself. I'm Uleen."

Sam was getting troubles to remember their names. They looked the same. "Eleen, Aleen, Oleen and Uleen. Weird names." thought Sam.

"They're not weird. We all have 'leen' at the back to show that we are friends. Best friends." Uleen said.

Eleen was the most beautiful angel in this room. Her hair was until her shoulders and reddish-brown. She had a pair of blue and sharp eyes. Her shirt was pretty. It was pink and have flowers on the middle. Her skirt was a darker pink and puffy.

Aleen was the only male angel in this room. He had brown hair. His hair looked like the hairdresser had put a coconut shell on it and just cut it along the coconut shell.

Oleen was not as beautiful as Eleen and Uleen. Her eyes were smaller than theirs. But her hair was nice. Part of it was highlighted purple. She tied them into a pony tail.

"Hi Eleen, Aleen, Oleen and Uleen. I think I don't have to introduce myself, right? I just want to know why am I here?" Sam asked.

"Oh yeah. I think I've forgotten to tell you that. We want you to help us to find a treasure." Uleen explained.

Chapter 2 -- "Cloud World"

Sam was too shocked to even close his mouth. "Where am I?" thought Sam.

"This looks like another world. Am I standing on clouds?!" Sam looked under his feet and exclaimed. He was indeed standing on clouds. The clouds were solid though.

"Why are there so many dwarfs here? What is this place? Am I dreaming?" thought Sam. Sam pinched his arm to see if he was dreaming. "Ouch! So I'm not dreaming?"

"You aren't dreaming. And stop calling us 'dwarfs', Sam. We are the angels. Can't you see that we have wings? For your information, this is the 'Cloud World'." The dwarf next to Sam suddenly spoke, Sam nearly had a heart attack.

Sam still could not make himself to either close his mouth and talk or nod. The angel didn't seem to expect him answering though because she continued talking. "Besides your world, there are many other worlds in this universe. The so-called aliens you humans claimed to see were just another type of living things in other worlds. The 'Cloud World' is a world on top of the clouds. Many of the things here are made of clouds."

"Whoa.... Wait for a second. How did you know that I'm Sam? Plus, can you read mind?! How did you know I called you 'dwarf' in my mind? This is creeping me out." Sam finally got his voice back.

"We angels have super powers. We can read minds. When we see someone, their name will just pop in our mind." The angel smiled and explained to him.

"Okay... So you're an angel. And you have super powers. I'm in 'Cloud World'. Do you expect me to believe in you? This must be a dream. I want to wake up! This dream is creeping me out! I want to leave!" Sam was feeling the chill creeping in him. "This is a dream. This is a dream. This is a dream!" Sam kept repeating that in his mind.

"Take it easy, Sam. This may be hard for you to accept for now. But let me show you around. That will make you believe what I just told you. You are not dreaming, okay?" The angel said.

"I'm dreaming. Stop it, will you?! This is really creeping me out. I must be dreaming. Yes, this is a dream. Yeah, just a dream." Sam was acting like a crazy boy losing his marbles.

"For God's sake! You're not dreaming Sam! Just follow me." The angel was getting angry.

Too scared to deny, Sam nodded. "First, please let me shrink you." Before Sam could answer, the angel took out a shiny stick, which Sam recognized as a wand like Harry Potter's, and waved it at Sam. At the speed of light, Sam began shrinking. When he was as small as the angel, he stopped shrinking.

The angel told him to follow her. Without waiting for his reply, she walked down the road, which was the clouds, and pointed at the buildings on both sides.

Sam quickly quicken his pace and was behind her when she said "This is the Bank of Angels.". She was pointing at a building on her left hand side. It was very tall and was white in colour, just as she said just now. Everything was white.

She continued explaining what those buildings were while Sam was looking at them in awe. Sam hadn't seen anything that white. Even the doors of the buildings were white. There weren't any windows on them.

"So I'm not dreaming. I'm in 'Cloud World'. And this place is amazing!" thought Sam. He was enjoying this trip now.

Chapter 1 -- The Shiny Little Thing

"Hey, mom! I'm going out to the waterfall. Bye." While tying his shoelace, Sam told his mom.

"Well, okay. But remember not to follow any strangers." His mom reminded him for at least the thousandth time.

"Okay mom. Why do you need to repeat that every time?! I won't, okay? I'm going." Sam was feeling a bit frustrated.

"Just do as I said. And, you must come back before dinner time." Mom told him.

Sam didn't bother to answer that. Mom always said the same thing every time he's going out. He could literally repeat it. "This is what you get for being the only child in a family." thought Sam.

Sam reached the forest in five minutes. The forest wasn't very big. The trees there were tall and the type was the same. You would get lost if you didn't know this place well enough. But Sam wasn't afraid of the forest; he had come here almost everyday since he was five years old. His dad used to bring him to the waterfall in the forest. Sam could easily close his eyes and walked to the waterfall without getting lost. The forest was like his second home.

It was a lovely day, the birds were singing and Sam's mood was lifting with every steps. After a two minutes walk, Sam had reached the waterfall.

The waterfall was very beautiful. Many tourists love to come here and take some pictures. Sometimes there were photographers from other countries.

The waterfall was like a place in heaven. During summer, the water had sparkling above it. During autumn, the leaves were floating on the water. During winter, the water was frozen. During spring, the flowers beside the waterfall were blooming. No matter what season it was, the waterfall was always a paradise.

It had been raining during the midnight. The earth was damp. Sam circled the waterfall and finally found a spot that was dry. He sat down and took off his shoes and socks. While kicking the water, he looked around the waterfall.

The sky was clear. There were a flock of birds flying freely. To set off this lovely day, there was a rainbow in the sky. The rainbow was very bright. Sam quickly got his phone out of his pocket and was going to take a picture of it when he saw a shiny little thing on the screen of his phone.

He looked away from his phone and squinted on the rainbow, hoping to see what it was. The shiny thing was sliding down the rainbow. "It must be the reflection of the Sun. My eyes were playing tricks." thought Sam.

The shiny little thing came to halt at the bottom of the rainbow. As Sam was rubbing his eyes, trying to block away that thing, it was coming towards him. In a matter of seconds, it had stopped directly in front of him.

Sam looked down realized that the thing was just until his knee. He squatted down to have a closer look of it. The "thing" was a girl. Sam thought she was a dwarf due to her height. She had a pair of wings at her back. The wings were translucent and shiny. She had long and curly blonde hair. Her face was beautiful. Her eyes were big and brown. She had long eyelashes. Her mouth was small and shiny. "She must have applied some lip gloss on it." thought Sam.

The dwarf motioned for Sam to follow her. Too shocked to either speak or move, Sam just stood there like being casted a spell. The dwarf had to pull his hand to bring him back from trance. She motioned for him to follow her again, but he still stayed there, unable to move his muscles.

After a minute so, Sam finally managed to walk. The dwarf was walking towards the bottom of the rainbow. Sam quickly followed her. At the bottom of the rainbow, Sam realized that the rainbow had steps on it. The dwarf was climbing the steps. Sam also started climbing the steps.

Luckily, Sam wasn't afraid of heights. If it was his mother climbing the steps, surely she would pass out. The view was amazing from the rainbow. Sam could see the whole forest from there. He could even see his house.

After climbing for a while, Sam realized his surrounding was all white. He was very scared. He could not even see the steps. Suddenly, there was a voice besides his ear saying "Just continue to climb. Don't think too much. Just keep climbing." The voice gave Sam the courage to climb.

Finally, Sam saw a light ahead. After a few steps, he broke free from the "white world". Sam looked around and was shell-shocked. "Whoa... Where is this place?" thought Sam.

Review

On a summer afternoon, when the blazing Sun was shining down towards the earth, Sam, a twelve-year-old was playing by the waterfall in a forest near his house. To set off this lovely afternoon, the sky was clear and there was a rainbow. Suddenly, Sam saw a shiny little thing sliding down the rainbow. Sam thought it was just a reflection from the Sun. The shiny thing slided down and was coming towards Sam. In a matter of seconds, the shiny thing was directly in front of Sam. It motioned for Sam to followed it.

What was that shiny little thing? Where was it leading Sam to? What would happen if Sam followed it? Would Sam get into danger?

Please be patient and wait for chapter 1...
